High Fructose Corn Syrup

Did you know that there is actually trace amounts of mercury in some high fructose corn syrup!

According to webmd.com, researchers bought 55 products with high fructose corn syrup as the first or second ingredient in the product. The test results showed that there was a detectable amount of mercury in about 31% or 17 of the 55 products tested.

High levels of mercury can harm the kidneys, lungs, brain, immune system and even the heart. The tests however do not supply proof that the mercury came from the high fructose corn syrup.

According to naturalnews.com, high fructose corn syrup can be linked to obesity and type-2 diabetes. The chemical glutaraldehyde is a toxic chemical used to turn corn into high fructose corn syrup. Glutaraldehyde is also used for embalming! 

Also according to naturalnews.com glutaraldehyde can actually burn a hole in your stomach! High fructose corn syrup can be found in things that you would not even think of like salad dressings or pizza sauces.

The best way to keep yourself safe from this danger is to read your food labels.

Gluten

Hi everyone, today I will be talking about gluten. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and most cooking flours. A gluten free diet can increase your energy. When I first went gluten free, it was hard to find things that I could eat but over time I found more and more things that I could eat. If you are starting out going gluten free and are having trouble finding food that you can eat, try going to Whole Foods and make sure you read all of the ingredients so you do not end up with a product that has gluten in it. Make sure that your body is ok without gluten.

Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog about eating healthy. I hope this blog will help you and your family get inspired to eat and live healthier. This blog will talk about what you should eat and what to stay away from. Just so you know, I am a 14 year old entering high school and I would just like to help people live a healthier life. In the past lear I have had many diet changes after getting a full allergy test. This meant I had to be gluten, corn, soy, nut free, casein, artificial free, and lots lots more. This was very hard fore me because I usually would eat lots of candy and junk food every day. After getting tested for allergies I got tested for what metals I had in my body. It turned out that I had lead and mercury and some other heavy metals in my body. I had this because my body can not detoxify properly.
